I think the developers really put a lot of time into making a kind of showcase for how good the mechanics are.I know it’s a short one but I think this one is worth a try because of how impressive the game feels and I personally had a lot of fun playing it.Okay, so I have Dead Frontier 2 as the next game on the list. The flying and superhero gameplay is about as good as you can get.I could honestly just sit for a few hours just flying around punching stuff and have a good time doing it. It’ll probably take you an hour to beat at most, but don’t let that turn you away from it.It has a lot of replayability and I really wanted this on the list because I had a lot of fun playing it.Essentially, this game places you as a hero in this small city and your goal, or goals, are to save the various citizens around the map, while also taking out the enemies.The reason this game deserves a spot on this list is that the game feels so good. Now, I wanna mention that this game isn’t very long at all.
Each building almost always seems completely symmetrically spaced from the next. There are safe zones and also PvP zones where you can kill other players for their loot.I will say that the map is kinda lacking and at times it feels like a copy and paste of each building. Obviously, it isn’t as refined as something like Resident Evil, but the game feels good and takes a lot of inspiration from those types of games.The basic premise of the game is you start out in a room with other survivors and explore the map, which basically consists mostly of city, to gather resources.There isn’t any base-building but more of a looter type.
Some people love it, and some people think it turned into a cash grab.Now, why is that? Well, the game used to be a paid game, and I think it was around $20-30, but, eventually, the devs made it free-to-play. There are a lot of different realms and each of them comes with their different enemy types and areas.Now, starting out in the game it can get overwhelming with the amount of stuff you can do, but eventually, when you get the hang of it, you can easily pour 60 hours into the game.You can build your home and bring it with you wherever you go with these land plot areas, and when you really get into exploring you find caves and dungeon areas so you can clear them out and get loot.Trove also has a lot of different classes you can play as, and as you progress, you unlock those higher-level realms and get into the really interesting stuff.So, Defiance is kind of a mixed bag in terms of the reception of the game. Every 4 or so hours, one of the outposts will be attacked by the zombies and if you fail to defend it, that outpost will close down for an hour or so.The game is pretty basic in terms of gameplay but I found it a lot of fun exploring the different buildings and looting dead bodies.Trove is another MMO, but a lot different than Conquerors Blade.With Trove, you do a lot more looting and exploring the different realms.
Star Wars: The Old RepublicStar Wars: The Old Republic is a game I felt really deserved to be on this list. The combat feels pretty good and you also can get a whole list of different skills and abilities that mix up the gameplay.Steam Link: 6. It has a lot of story that is based around it and If you check steam, some people have upwards of 2,000 hours in the game.The story was pretty interesting from what I’ve played and it gave me kind of a third-person Halo vibe.Essentially you and other players roam the map and do various missions and take down outposts in the destroyed remains of the earth.You can play with other friends to scavenge the world or you can play alone, but ultimately you are all competing to gain the technology from the aliens to progress in the game.Regardless of the negative feedback from the game, I think this is a good game.
Each has its strengths and they all feel really different.Once you get established you grow your kingdom and eventually establish trade routes and alliances to gain the upper hand.Steam Link: 2. It can get pretty chaotic sometimes but that just makes it more fun.You command your troops to do specific actions while you are in a battle and slowly gain ground when pushing through the enemy lines.The battle mechanics in this game blew me away and I was very impressed, and not even just the battles, but the character combat.Starting out you get a feel for each of the weapon types. You build up your own unique army and work towards conquering as many lands and kingdoms as you can.The battles are these big set-piece battles with multiple other allies joining you in the siege. I feel for some people this could be their favorite game on the list.The game is an MMO open-world game set in medieval times.
What really caught me off guard when looking into this game is that the game actually came out in early 2012, but recently got ported over this year.So what’s this little pixel game got to offer? Well, the game places you in this massive realm with other players and you explore the world and gather loot.And yeah, that sounds similar to some of the other games on the list but I honestly love the 8-bit style and the game has a ton of content.Going into a hidden cave and clearing all the enemies out feels so satisfying and the loot you get feels really rewarding.You have a whole list of different classes to choose from and also, the game is also a permadeath game so if you die you need to start over.That never bothered me, though, because it always feels good to go back out in the realm and work your way back up. Other than having a weird name that I always seem to forget, the game is awesome.I was not expecting to have this much fun with this game but I was really surprised.The game is an open-world MMO in a retro 8-bit art style.
